William Mitchell III, MD

Dr Vikas Dhawan specializes in orthopedic hand surgery in adult and pediatric patients. He treats wrist and hand fractures, traumatic injuries, cysts and tumors of the upper extremities, nerve compressions and injuries, arthritis, Dupuytren’s contracture and birth defects. He uses the latest techniques in his practice, including collagenase treatment for Dupuytren’s disorder, joint fusion using compression staples, and ulnar nerve transposition using an innovative sling.
Dr Dhawan is an associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. His research interests include nerve allografts, tissue engineering, and biomechanics of tendon repair.
